IMPERIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Ladies and Gentlement, Members of Parliament, and members of the Imperial Government it is with heavy heart that I must inform you that this morning I received an email informing me that Defense Minister, Count Gerard Fox, has passed away in Scotland following some unsuccessful brain surgery to remove several blood clots in his brain.
Count Gerard will be greatly missed. His service to the Empire was truly above and beyond the call of duty. Some of you may know that a few years ago he was involved in a very bad traffic accident. He seemed to be recovering well but recently blood clots were found and they had to be operated on.
We ask your prayers for Count Gerard and for his family. He had 5 children with one on the way next month. This is a very hard time for his wife and children as you can expect.
As Emperor of the Empire of Thrace I herewith declare and decree seven days of mourning for the passing of one of our Imperial Government officials. I herewith order all Thracian flags to be lowered to half staff beginning today in rememberance of Count Gerard.

My most sincere and deepest condolences to the family of the count Fox. He was true friend of Thrace and serve more than good to the Empire.
God bless his memory. He will be always in our hearts!!!

The Church prays deeply for the family, and friends of Count Gerard Fox.
I to have known him for several years. he was one of the best.

Our sympathies and compassion go out to Count Gerard who served for the past two years as our Defense Minister. His consultation and advise will be greatly missed. He was a man with honor and integrity and a man who took his duties seriously. Our micronation suffers because of his loss. May God bless him and his family in this time of great sorrow.
Some of you might notice that Count Gerard's account is logging in. Yesterday we received a request from his family asking if they could log into his name and read what was on the boards and we told them it would be ok. They know that he was very active on many forums including Thrace and we see nothing wrong with them logging into his account and reading the posts he and others have made on this public forum. This decision was made by the Emperor and myself.
